Shut up. If you try to shove your horrid born-again Christian doctrine down my throat one more time, I will leap across these tables and smack you with the Bible that I’m shakily holding in my hands for this class. You’re so incredibly narrow-sighted and ignorant that you haven’t even realized that there is a wide variety of religions and preferences in the classroom and some (if not most) of us do not celebrate Christmas in an overly religious way. There are people who are of other religions, but they still celebrate Christmas because they are not overly religious about their own beliefs either. You’re really saying that they can’t take part in “your” holiday because they haven’t accepted Christ in such a loud and obnoxious way as you have? (Because I don’t think a day has gone by without me hearing you loudly proclaim how much better your way of life is than everyone else’s.)
If people want to write “X-mas” - LET THEM. It’s not in any way putting you out of your way or criticizing your way of life. Do you. My number 1 doctrine. DO YOU. But do not try to force me to do it too. How dare you make someone feel bad because they’re not as “religious” as you. We are not taking Christ out of Christmas; we’re not taking anything out of Christmas! How you choose to celebrate the holiday is your own business! There is no right or wrong way to do it!
Not to mention that all of this righteous and religious talk is coming from the same girl who claimed (so wisely) that she, “doesn’t understand why all the poor people at Occupy Wall Street are so mad. They could have this money, too, they’re just not working hard enough for it.” I asked her what her father did for a living. “He owns an oil company,” she said. Of course. The girl who has never had to actually work for anything can’t understand why the “poor people” are mad. With said “poor people” being, well, EVERYONE else in the class. So I’m sorry if I can’t exactly hear the truthfulness of your amazing religion through the blatant ignorance spewing from your mouth everyday.
And by the way, I’m pretty sure Christians preach tolerance and understanding. So you can stop glaring at the Muslim girl who sits near you during class and rolling your eyes everytime she raises her hand to say something. I know, how dare she, right? How dare she have the gall to even be in proximity to you! And she speaks?! What an outrage to your religion! She is actually a wonderful person, but you wouldn’t know that. Everyone else is evil, right? I’m also sure that Christians teach modesty and being humble. So you can stop snorting in laughter everytime someone pulls out their phone or iPod, which is no doubt inferior than the technology that your daddy bought for you and telling everyone within earshot how much your clothes cost. We don’t all celebrate Christmas like you do. For some people, this is the only time of the year that they come alive, and have some spirit. So you can stop telling us that we’re heathens and that we’re going to burn in Hell for taking the sanctity out of this season.
Because it’s not true. I know a loving and caring God for everyone, while all you know is your own alleged superiority, hate, and ignorance.
